Some time ago, I bought short ribs. I wasn't sure what to do with them so for months they just hung out in my freezer, collecting ice, until I finally dug them out and decided to cook them. There's not much on the internet in the way of recipes for boneless short ribs, and I ended up taking this recipe and making it my own.
Seriously, I had no idea how they'd turn out. It could've gone either way. They simmered away in the oven all day, filling the house with the most amazing smell, and by dinner time Jake and I were at the stove with our mouths watering.
Success! They were absolutely, positively, delicious. Ladled over some mashed potatoes, we greedily slurped them up in no time. While I suggested in the recipe that you use red wine, you can go without-but I think wine or even beer would give this some really great flavor.
